We believe that our foremost responsibility is to have a personal and intimate relationship with God, our Father, and Prayer is the main way of building that relationship. Prayer encourages / uplifts us (and others), it is fundamental to our spiritual development as food is to our body, a prayer-less life is a powerless one.
As Women (Mothers, Sisters and Daughters), we’re called to be intercessors, in our homes, churches, communities, countries and in the Kingdom, because life is packed with spiritual challenges and warfare. In Phil 4:6, we’re encouraged to be “anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known unto God”. We cannot prevail in our own strength, for it is not by power or might but by my Spirit, said the Lord Almighty (Zechariah 4:6).
We choose to be a virtual group, because we understand that the demands and dynamics of our time, restricts us and makes it almost impossible for people (especially women), to make long term commitment, to meeting periodically, hence the decision to meet virtually, on the last day of every month.
E-Sisters prayer group was initiated in January 2010 by Funmi Oseni because she has and is still experiencing life /destiny transforming power of Prayer based on biblical precepts. She feels that every Bible believing child of God should have that personal relationship with our creator that will enable them to experience this grace gift from God to us and its power. In Phil. 2:12, “we are told to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling”, Prayer helps develop an intimate relationship with God, hence a way of working out our salvation. In Ephesians 6:18, we are urged and encouraged to pray always, to our omnipresent (ever present) and omnipotent (all powerful), heavenly Father, who not only hears prayer immediately, but even knows the content of prayer before it is formulated, Isaiah 65:24 tells us that “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear”.
She believes, as women from different walks of life, racial, cultural and social background, we’re pivotal to God’s plan for our generation and the ones to come, destinies of our children, spouses and others, our communities and churches, the only way we can excel in all these roles, build spiritual relationship and maximize our God given potentials, is with our Heavenly father’s help, through prayer and the Word of God.
She’s passionate about prayer and dreams of time when Christian women across time zones and cultures, will develop an intimacy with God by praying without ceasing.
